Cistern
« on: August 16, 2019, 01:15:09 PM »
Didn't know whether to put this in the bushcraft section or here, but since I'll need a pump, figured I go with POWER Equipment!!   :chuckle: :chuckle:

Anyone install an underground cistern?  This would be off grid, so solar powered or generator powered.  If so would you mind sharing any photos and or discussion on dos and don'ts.  It's going to be a while before I can pay for a well, so I need to install a cistern.  Thinking of something around 1500 to 2500 gallons, underground.  For now I'll have the water delivered.  Later when I drill the well I'll tie it into the cistern so the pump does not have to run all the time.

Thanks for any advice or help.

We've used Norwesco tanks on a couple of our geo jobs.

Pretty simple and should last darn near forever.  Light too.

HD Fowler has some cisterns for above and below ground use cheaper than anything I've found elsewhere. We don't do much cistern work but when we do they always price out better than elsewhere.
